Collection: Portable Vaporizers
The Best Portable Vaporizers Explained
In the summer of 2025 I posted a Youtube video titled "The Best Portable Vaporizers Right Now," and it's still accurate at the start of 2026.
Portable vapes for flower fit into three groups:
- Session-style
- On-demand
- Torch-powered
Torch vapes are now in their own category. All battery-powered devices are shown on this page.
This is a breakdown of some of the best portable vaporizers in each category.
Session-Style Portable Vapes (Battery-Powered)

Venty (Storz & Bickel)
Probably the best overall choice for most people, with a few caveats.
- Strong heater and strong overall performance
- Great battery life
- Works VERY well with dosing capsules
- Easy to use and operate
- Very free-flowing draw (low resistance)
The main problem with the Venty has been reliability, many people have had to get replacements due to defects (including myself), but S&B is at least very good about warranty coverage.
If you're someone like me with a million vapes, there's an interesting thing that happens over time, the vapor from the Venty becomes "boring", but that's not necessary a bad thing. The vapor is very smooth and you get big clouds, but the "throat hit" is a little lacking, it's hard to sense how big of a hit you're taking.

Crafty+ (Storz & Bickel)
My top pick for true portability and pocket use, with a long history as my go-to option when I leave home.
- Top choice when size and pocketability matter most
- My go-to portable since the original version came out in 2014
- Great form factor (size, shape, and weight)
- Simple to use and works well every time
- Battery life is the main weakness
I talk about this at length in my State of Vape 2026 video, but I'm actually a little pissed that I'm still using my Crafty as the best option when I'm on-the-go. Nothing has come out since 2014 to de-throne it, which enforces how good it is, but is also disappointing.

Mighty+ (Storz & Bickel)
A bigger option than the Crafty+ for people who want better battery life, even if it is less pocket-friendly.
- Virtually same performance as the Crafty+
- Bigger body to fit two batteries for longer battery life
- Heats up faster than the Crafty
- Bowl holds about 0.25g
- Works with dosing capsules, but you do get best performance loaded natively
I think S&B might actually sell more of the Mighty than the Crafty, but I've personally used my Mighty a lot less. This is solely due to the form factor and the fact that it's larger and less pocketable.

Pax Plus
One of the best shapes and sizes of all portable vapes, but it uses conduction-only heating, which limits performance compared to the other options listed.
- Probably the best portable form factor there is
- Conduction-only heating limits strength of vapor and effects
- Short “sips” can still give a decent hit without long pulls
- Flavor is good in the first half of the bowl, but overall performance does not match higher-performing devices
The PAX has always been the most pocket-friendly device, and for a while I used it every day. The problem is that it's not very strong and it kind of goes through your bud pretty fast, so it's not the most efficient.
On-Demand Portable Vaporizers

Bowle 2 (Tafee)
It doesn't look like your typical vape but the performance is surprising.
- Very unique shape with a functional cup (that I don't use)
- High-end performance even with the unusual design
- Convection heater makes smooth, tasty vapor
- Super free-flowing, low-resistance draw (very low)
- Popular with enthusiasts with very few complaints about performance
Really the only complaint with this one is the odd form factor, but it performs super well. It's super efficient also, and works well with micro-dose loads (<0.1g)

TinyMight 2
A popular convection vaporizer known for its nice build quality and strong vapor.
- Removable 18650 battery
- Comes with a short glass stem with cooling parts inside
- Produces good vapor with good flavor
- Maybe not the smoothest vape out there
- Loading and unloading can be a downside - dosing capsules help
I would probably use this one more if the vapor was a tad more comfortable, because I really don't have too many complaints about it. Loading and unloading is a little weird, and the dosing capsules help with this, but they are very small and a little hard for me to handle.

BAKx (Lamart)
Uses an external mod for power and stands out for its all-glass air path.
- Handmade by Lamart in Switzerland
- Works with ground flower, whole nugs, and concentrates
- Only device on this list with a 100% all-glass air path (some are close)
- Works with a J-hook and most glass rigs - optional stems available
- Strong performance with high-quality vapor
- Clean and complex flavor, full extraction, and strong effects
The BAK is a cult favorite, it's not easy to get and it's not cheap, but it's extremely unique and has the performance to back it up. Messing with the mod settings to calibrate it properly can be a little annoying, but once you set everything up you shouldn't have to mess with it a lot.

Tetra P80 (Lamart)
A convection-style portable with a unique heating element made of glass.
- Built-in mod with a removable battery
- Powerful convection heating element
- Swappable glass stems - newer ones include built-in cooling
- Strong performance with excellent vapor quality
- Main downside: limited availability
The heating element inside this one is made of glass tubes and stainless steel wire, which is not a configuration found in other devices.

Arizer Solo 3
A well-liked device with strong vapor and solid build quality, but the way it is used can reduce smoothness and feel annoying.
- Solid build quality with a nice look and feel
- Can produce a lot of vapor with strong effects
- Not as smooth as I'd like, feels a little hot
- The stem needs to be pulled out after each hit to avoid overheating, which is not ideal
The Solo 3 is popular but I wouldn't say it's one of my personal favorites. The loading and unloading is a little bit of an annoying process, but my main issue with it is the vapor, it just feels kinda hot and a little on the harsh side.

XVape Roffu
Basically the cheapest battery-powered portable vape I would recommend buying.
- Build quality and performance beat other devices around $150 or less
- Thoughtful vapor path design keep things smooth and comfortable
- Fairly efficient with your bud, pretty small oven
Buying very cheap battery portables is usually not a good idea because higher-end devices give a significant bump in performance and vapor quality. However, if you don't want to spend a lot, or need a cheap backup vape, this one isn't bad at all.
Torch-Powered Portable Vaporizers (Analog Vapes)

Dynavap M+
A standard model from a major brand in this category. It works good once torch technique is learned, and it pairs nicely with induction heaters.
- Comes in many styles and sizes; the M+ is a standard model
- Good performance once torch technique is dialed in
- Works very well with induction heaters like the Wand
- Good vapor quality and strong effects from small amounts of flower
Dynavap is pretty much the OG in the torch vape category, and they've pumped out dozens of different devices over the years. I think they're cool and they work well, but I haven't used mine a lot since I got my other torch vapes listed below, they're just stronger and hit harder.

Simrell (The Relli)
An extremely well-made analog device with precision machining, multiple heating styles, and an easier learning curve than some others.
- Can be heated with torches of all sizes
- Works with induction heaters like the Wand and YLL 3.0
- Heating position can be adjusted for mostly convection, mostly conduction, or a mix
- Strong performance with smooth, tasty, potent vapor
- Oven is around 0.15g, but it works especially well with microdoses around 0.05g
- More forgiving than others, with less risk of overheating the flower
Since I got it I think I've used this one more than any other portable in my collection. It's one of my personal favorites because of how well it's made, how fast it is to use, and how good the vapor is that it produces. Highly recommended.

Tornado (Vestratto)
A very hard-hitting torch vape made for big, dense hits and strong effects.
- Needs at least a medium torch, small single-flame torches are not enough
- Also works with induction heaters like the YLL 3.0
- Main strength is the huge, dense hits it produces
- Slightly lacking in the flavor department, but still solid
- Takes practice to learn, but can very rewarding once dialed in
I use this one a lot too, the performance is really strong and the hits are impressive. I don't love loading and unloading the bowl, but I really don't have any other complaints about it. This is a good one.

Tempest 2
Lots of built-in features with this one, but heating technique matters and it is not always the smoothest.
- Cap has a heat indicator (kinda cool)
- Adjustable air port is nice to have
- Water pipe adapter built into the mouthpiece (very cool)
- Works with a medium torch or an induction heater
- May take a few tries to dial in the heating style
- Once dialed in it produces huge clouds
- Not the smoothest vapor in my opinion
A lot of people like this one, and I do too, it's just not my personal favorite torch vape. It has a bunch of cool features and honestly hits super hard, but I'm a stickler for smooth vapor and I struggle a little bit getting that every time.

Vapman Click
A small, unique torch device with a flavor-first, lower-temp style good for lighter sessions.
- Unique design with quality craftsmanship
- Heat it with a small single-flame torch
- Click sound is set for lower-temp use
- Going a few seconds past the click is recommended
- Not made for huge clouds - it shines with flavor
I call this one a good "morning vape" because it really shines when taking lighter hits at lower temps.

Vaphit QoQ (Quartz on Quartz)
A very cool torch device made of quartz, with a unique vapor feel and complex flavor.
- Quartz cap and quartz bowl, nearly all-glass air path
- Medium torch recommended (small takes too long to heat)
- Quartz gives a unique vapor feel with very complex flavor
- Less forgiving than other options and easy to overheat the flower
- Careful heating is needed, with great results when done well
This one is probably what I consider the absolute best value in the vaporizer industry. It requires technique for optimal results, but when dialed-in the performance can match devices that are quadruple the price. It's currently $60, which blows my mind. I use mine all the time.
I livestream on Youtube and Twitch at 2pm ET - stop by if you have any questions!
Stay up!
